Recently, the 16th Clean Energy Ministerial (CEM16) and the 10th Mission Innovation (MI10) were grandly held in Busan, South Korea. The conference brought together government representatives from major global economies, international organizations, and leading enterprises in the energy sector to explore pathways for green energy transition and innovative cooperation. As a key representative of China's green fuel industry chain, Windey Energy Technology Group was invited to attend and share China's solutions to advance international shipping decarbonization.

Focusing on Shipping Decarbonization and Advancing IMO Framework Implementation

Promoting the implementation of the International Maritime Organization (IMO)'s 'Net-Zero Framework for Shipping' was one of the core topics of this conference. Following the preliminary vote at the 83rd session of the IMO’s Marine Environment Protection Committee (MEPC 83) in April this year, the framework is expected to undergo a formal vote at a special session in October, which will serve as a major milestone in the global transition to zero-carbon shipping.

During the conference, Windey emphasized its full commitment to supporting and actively participating in the advancement of this framework. Leveraging its expertise in green fuel R&D, large-scale production, and maritime applications, Windey will provide practical technical pathways and industrial support for global shipping emission reductions. Windey also stated that while promoting the demonstration and application of green fuels such as methanol and ammonia in the Chinese market, it will accelerate its international expansion to facilitate the transformation of the global shipping energy structure.

Engaging in International Dialogue to Build a Green Fuel Ecosystem Together

During the conference, representatives from Windey held in in-depth discussions with Mr. Thomas A. Kazakos, Secretary-General of the International Chamber of Shipping (ICS). Both parties exchanged views on topics such as the construction of green fuel supply chains, international standard alignment, and future fuel technology trends, further strengthening the participation and influence of Chinese enterprises in the global maritime decarbonization agenda.

Windey advocates for strengthened cross-domain collaboration among governments, industry organizations, and supply chain enterprises to jointly establish an open, cooperative, and sustainable global green fuel ecosystem. Only through technology sharing, mutual recognition of standards, and market coordination can large-scale commercial application of green fuels be achieved, ultimately realizing the goal of net-zero emissions in shipping.

Continuing to Empower Global Energy Transition

Moving forward, Windey will uphold its corporate mission of empowering the future with green energy, deepen cooperation with government agencies, industry associations, and international partners, and promote the innovation and widespread adoption of green fuel technologies. This will not only support the global transition to zero-carbon shipping but also further solidify China's leadership role in energy transition and climate governance on the international stage.
